An Apple a Day Keeps Miley Cyrus Away

As I see the pop scene today it seems that the bubble gum Pop has been ruling major airwaves.  Is Miley Cyrus the next big thing in the continent called music?  Is she the next Britney S. or just a one hit no wonder? I wonder, does the children today so depressed they would take bait from the achy breaky daughter?

Where is the talent in the music industry? Have we forgotten about real talent? Where is Fiona Apple!? The singer most of the people forgotten because the “talent” scene has been replace by freak shows.  I’m not saying that Miley Cyrus does not have talent.  She has a big talent most of the talented does not have, and that is the willingness to flaunt half of her groin on the mass to attract more sales and attract producers to give her a great deal.

Fiona Apple has produced only 3 albums since 1996, her last a critically acclaimed album Extraordinary Machine (2005), proves she does not lost her touch.  However selling only a few units compare to her debut and sophomore album Tidal and When the Pawn… which sold millions of copy.  Where is she? I needed a spanking new Jazzy-Alt Rock music from her, but her releases is so limited.  She used to remind me of Sade especially in her video of The First Taste; will her album release will be like Sade who released only 6 albums from 1984 to 2010?

Going back to Miley, who has music for pre to teen age, but almost already out-doing what most of the slut-teen outfit (which is kinda sad); if you are a new image for kids you better figure it out, you are not even legal yet.  Does the pop scene giving us bad influence for the kids? I’m not saying that she is a Marilyn Manson, but at least Marilyn is programmed to a more mature audience.  Miley appeared to be this innocent Hanna Montana Star but as most of the pop star they tend to evolve in a fast down slope manner.  I just hope Miley is not the new Lindsay Lohan, or did she already do it?

  1. amen to what you say… and yes i do think Miley have some chance of becoming the next Lindsanity… she’s definitely not the best role model for tweens nowadays…

  2. i think the main problem with the industry is that fans’ ears have grown accustomed to the way of singing that is prevalent now. we hear too much of the shriek-y or nasal or really thin voices. and we don’t get to hear much of voices that come from the diaphragm like alicia keys, mary j blige, fiona, faith hill and the likes.
